Summer (June-August) is hot and humid, but it marks the peak season for marine activities at Coloane. The beach is free to access, but parking spaces are limited on holidays.
Cheoc Van Beach (Recommended for Fall and Winter)
Compared to Hac Sa Beach, Cheoc Van Beach is more secluded and peaceful. While swimming is not ideal in fall and winter, the Cheoc Van Beach Hotel (Pousada de Coloane) offers excellent ocean views. The Portuguese-style architecture is particularly charming under winter sunlight, making it a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts. There is a small parking lot next to the beach with about 20 spaces.
Lord Stow's Bakery Main Store (Year-round, Seasonal Products)
Lord Stow's Bakery in Coloane town is not only the birthplace of the Portuguese egg tart, but also launches limited products according to seasons. There are fragrant lemon tarts in spring, mango flavors in summer, and chestnut series in fall. Winter is the best time to enjoy the classic original Portuguese egg tart, paired with hot coffee it's especially warming. Each egg tart costs MOP$12, and it's recommended to enjoy on-site for the best texture.
St. Francis Xavier's Church (Suitable Year-round)
Built in 1928, this Baroque church displays different light effects in each season. The bougainvillea in the garden blooms in spring, the interior is cool and pleasant in summer, fall offers the best lighting for architectural details, and winter allows you to appreciate the church's serene beauty with fewer visitors. The church is free to visit and open daily from 9:00 to 17:30.
