Address: Multiple traditional bakeries near St. Dominic's Street, MOP8–12 each. Macanese egg tarts (Pastel de Nata) differ from Hong Kong egg tarts mainly in the layered puff pastry and caramel notes in the egg custard. Buy before 10am for just-baked versions, after 3pm what's left has been sitting too long. Don't buy at tourist gift shops, find neighborhood bakeries.

Practical Tips: Things to Know Before You Go
- Currency: MOP almost equals HKD (1 HKD ≈ 1 MOP), HKD accepted at most merchants in Macao but change given in MOP. No need to exchange money if bringing HKD.
