Age Restriction: 21 Years Old Threshold
Macau law requires a minimum age of 21 years to enter gaming areas. Valid identification (passport, Hong Kong Permanent Resident Identity Card, or Macau Resident Identity Card) must be presented. Persons under 21 years of age are not permitted to enter any gaming area, and no exceptions are granted even when accompanied by an adult. Minors may access non-gaming areas of the casino such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, and shopping centers.
Special Restrictions for Macau Residents
Macau residents are limited to entering casinos no more than 14 days per month (electronic record tracking). Individuals can voluntarily apply for the "Self-Exclusion Program" to be permanently or periodically banned from entry. Family members can apply for exclusion for relatives exhibiting problem gambling behavior through the "Third-Party Exclusion" mechanism.
Required Documents
Valid passport (any nationality), Hong Kong Permanent Resident Identity Card, Macau Resident Identity Card, and Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau for Mainland Residents (accompanied by Mainland ID) are all accepted. Large transactions require compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
Dress Code
The main gaming floor has a relaxed dress code, accepting casual attire. However, tank tops (at some casinos), flip-flops, beach sandals, or torn clothing are not permitted. VIP gaming areas and high-end casinos (Wynn, Four Seasons, Morpheus) require business casual or formal attire: men are advised to wear long pants with a collared shirt, and women are advised to wear dresses or dressy casual attire.
Prohibited Items
Photography and videography are strictly prohibited in the gaming area (violators may face legal liability). Outside food and beverages, as well as large luggage, are not permitted in the gaming area (items must be stored at the baggage check-in). The use of any electronic devices or software that assist in gambling is not allowed.
Chips Exchange Procedures and Cash Limits
The Cashier Cage accepts cash, UnionPay cards (with limits) and casino prepaid cards. Cash exceeding MOP 120,000 brought into Macau must be declared. Large chip exchanges (typically exceeding MOP 100,000) require completion of anti-money laundering verification procedures.
Is there an admission fee for Macau casinos?
No. All licensed casino public areas offer free admission with valid identification (21 years and older), no ticket required.
Can Hong Kong dollars be used in Macau casinos?
Yes. Macau casinos generally accept Hong Kong dollars, Macau patacas, and Chinese yuan, with Hong Kong dollars and Macau patacas basically at par (1 HKD ≈ 1.03 MOP).
Can I take photos in the casino?
Photography or video recording in gaming areas is strictly prohibited and may result in being asked to leave. Photos are allowed in non-gaming public areas such as hotel lobbies and restaurants.
How many days per month can Macau residents enter casinos?

Can minors accompany family members into casinos?
Those under 21 are not allowed in gaming areas but may enter non-gaming areas such as hotel lobbies, shopping centers, and restaurants.
Are Macau casinos open 24 hours?
Major Macau casino gaming areas are open 24 hours a day. Some smaller casinos or specific table games may have limited hours.
